Dissolved and inactive districts

Special districts are Florida's limited-purpose local governments — community development districts, fire control districts, mosquito control, water management, hospital and housing authorities. There are roughly 2,000 of them. When one is dissolved or declared inactive, its board stops meeting and its website usually stops being maintained.

Every row below comes from the Official List of Special Districts, which section 189.061, Florida Statutes requires the state to maintain. The date is the state's effective date. Where a name links, we hold captures of that district's page.

Most of the districts listed above were dissolved before this archive existed — the earliest here is from 1993 — so there is no snapshot of their sites to show. For removals from here on, there will be.
